How the ILUMA Standard Works
The ILUMA Standard splits the job between two parts. The holder is the pen-sized piece you hold. It carries enough charge for two sessions in a row. The pocket charger is the larger case. You drop the holder back in after use, and it tops the holder up while it sits in your pocket. A full pocket charger covers around 20 sessions.
Heating happens inside the stick, not around it. Each TEREA stick has a small metal element sealed in the tobacco, and the holder heats that element by induction. There is no blade in the holder to push the stick onto, so nothing snaps, nothing burns onto a blade, and there is no cleaning routine to keep up with. If you are coming from an IQOS 3 DUO, that is the change you will notice first.
Many people choose the two-part Standard over the one-piece ILUMA One for a simple reason: the holder is lighter and slimmer in the hand, and the charger stays in the pocket. If you prefer a single device with nothing to dock, see the ILUMA One collection.

ILUMA Standard or ILUMA i Standard: Which One Should You Buy?
This is where we want to be straight with you. The ILUMA i Standard is the newer generation of the same two-part idea. It adds a touchscreen that shows heating status and time left, Pause Mode, which lets you stop a session for up to 8 minutes and pick it back up, and FlexPuff, which can add up to 4 extra puffs depending on how you draw. In our store the i Standard starts at AED 265, which is AED 5 less than the original ILUMA Standard.

The original ILUMA Standard still makes sense in a few cases. You want one of its limited edition finishes, like the Stardrift, or the Standard versions of Neon and Oasis. You like a plain device with one button and no screen. Or you already own an ILUMA and want an identical backup. Otherwise, the IQOS ILUMA i Standard gives you more for slightly less. If you want the same original device in a metal body, look at the IQOS ILUMA Prime.
Setting Up Your ILUMA Kit
- Charge the pocket charger fully with the USB-C cable. The first charge takes around 2 hours 15 minutes.
- Take the holder out and push a TEREA stick in, filter side out, until it reaches the marked line.
- Heating starts automatically. The holder vibrates and the light comes on.
- When the holder vibrates again, preheating is done and you can start.
- After about 6 minutes or 14 puffs, the session ends. Remove the stick and throw it away.
- Place the holder back in the pocket charger so it is ready for the next session.
If the holder will not start, it usually just needs to go back in the charger for a few minutes. If a stick will not heat, check that it is TEREA and not HEETS. Keep the kit out of a parked car in summer, since strong heat is hard on any lithium battery.
Things to Know Before You Order in the UAE
It only takes TEREA. HEETS do not have the internal metal element, so an ILUMA cannot heat them, and IQOS advises against trying. Pick your sticks from our TEREA flavors range.
Sealed stock only. Every ILUMA kit we ship is new and factory sealed. Check the seal when it arrives and tell us straight away if something is not right.
Paying. Cash on delivery is our preferred method. Card and wallet payments add a 5% government tax at checkout. Bank transfer has no extra charge.
Problems with an order. Contact us within 24 hours of delivery and we will sort it out.

What is the difference between ILUMA Standard and ILUMA i Standard?

Do HEETS work in the IQOS ILUMA?
No. ILUMA devices work with TEREA sticks only. HEETS are made for older blade-based IQOS devices.
